Members and roles
Invite people to your Soniox organization and give each of them the Admin, Member, or Billing Viewer role. See exactly what each role can see and change.
Members are the people who can sign in to your organization in the Console. Each member has one role, and the role decides what they can see and change.
Roles
Soniox has three roles:
- Admin can do everything in the organization, including billing, members, and settings. Give it to owners and team leads.
- Member works with projects: API keys, the playground, and usage. Give it to developers.
- Billing Viewer sees costs and invoices for the whole organization, and nothing inside projects. Give it to finance and accounting.
Give each person only the access they need. You can't create your own roles or change what a role allows.
What each role can do
Projects

|---|---|---|---|
| Open every project in the organization | Yes | Yes | No |
| Create a project | Yes | Yes | No |
| Rename or delete a project | Yes | Yes | No |

| Use the Speech-to-Text and Text-to-Speech playground | Yes | Yes | No |
| See a project's usage, costs, and request logs | Yes | Yes | No |
A Member can open every project, not only the ones they created, and can delete any project and its API keys. Give the Member role only to people you trust with your production keys.

If you open a page your role doesn't cover, the Console tells you your role. Ask an Admin to change it if you need access.
Invite a member
Only Admins can invite people. Each person needs a Soniox account first. If they don't have one, ask them to sign up.
Go to Organization > Members and select Invite new members.
Enter the email address of each person you want to invite, and choose a role for each one. Select Roles in the form for a short reminder of what each role allows.
Send the invite. The person gets an email and joins your organization once they accept it. The invite expires after 7 days. To send a new one, invite them again.
Change a role or remove a member
On Organization > Members, an Admin can change a member's role or remove them from the organization with the actions next to their name.
Removing a member doesn't delete their Soniox account. It only takes away their access to your organization.
Only another Admin can change your role or remove you.
